Sooo sick and tired of the waiting game that oh so lovingly accompanies a military move.
For anyone who has not been through any kind of military move, just know the PG version of this the phrase to my left is thrown in your face as a sort of shrug. Order selection can take a few months minimum, but starts about one year out from your set rotation date…that is in two months for us and we still do not have a house set up…
As mentioned in a previous post, my husband is in the Navy and is getting stationed in Japan in April, but due to my greyhounds old age, I am staying behind with her and the cats. It was and still is a hard choice, but as we adopted her, then she, like all other pets I’ve owned, only get the best of second lives.
With that said, I got to choose where to live in the states and of course I chose my home of Washington state. We used to live in base housing there and have been trying to get housing on the same one this time.
It has been hurtle after redundant hurtle trying to get all the made up sounding paperwork they are requiring since my husband will not be living there with us. I am pleased that we are just waiting on one last addendum and then we should be shipshape and Bristol fashion. *nautical pun intended*
The house is about 75% packed by this point, making it nearly impossible for me to take my content photos. When we do arrive in our new house (whenever that may be), I do plan on doing a unpacking/home organization bit here and on my Pinterest, so stay tuned for that.
The book writing has been going pretty well still. It is around 90 pages already, but still leading up to the 2/3 rising action so I either need to speed it up or she will be a hefty gal in the end. I loooove all the detail though. It is really hard for me as a writer and artist to not paint a picture for my reader, all the little nuances that make the character a true individual. As decision that will come later, now is the time to just write and write and write until the story is told. My husband keeps asking how long the book will be and I just respond with “as long as it needs to be to tell the story”. As it may be a series, I hope it is not so long that the reader looses interest. We shall see.
