Word Press is where I really started to enjoy writing and sharing for fun. They were either academic articles from past research or just me blabbing about some bull. Either way, I really loved posting my work here and seeing how each piece performed.
I do write and share for the love of writing and sharing but the thing I am missing here (and it is probably my own fault) is any sense of mutual discussion and community.
I feel like I am talking at you and getting nothing in return. This is not said out of any sot of contempt, it is just how this usually goes for a lot of people on this site, and I want more.
Thus, I have started a Substack account, after discovering it through one of my favorite literary genius Youtubers (shout out Glutenbergbible!) and thought I could give it a crack.
I do not need to pay for and own a whole website to just write and Substack provides a social media like platform where you can choose to monetarily support other creators or just creep from the sidelines. With that, people can subscribe to your writings as if they were apart of a paid newsletter, or you could simply post everything without a paywall.
All that said, it is not even about the money (except for the fact that I am wasting it here), it is the community on Substack that I like. Everything I have seen so far feels so curated, visceral, and thought out that it has made me step up my own standards even for a simple comment. I find that it is the place were academics can come to write and share their own personal inquiries or work-based projects in a space where we are all holding each other accountable for thoughtful and intentional writing. It is honestly such a breath of fresh air on there from any other social media platform to date.
Really go check it out.
I do not however, want to just abandon the few who have followed me over the last 4 years, so we will have a “phase out” period ending in December when my domain expires.

Until December, I will post what I am writing over there on here. I have been working on what I am calling a “long study” specifically about the role the human body has had in macabre history. This is a topic I have long (and will always) enjoyed researching and learning about and wanted to do it at a higher level and in a more formal capacity. This will not be everyone’s jam, thus, there is a disclaimer a the start of every post. However, if this does sound like something you are interested in, please do let me know and follow along.
Articles are planned to release once a week but as these are meticulously crafted articles and I start my bachelors program in September, I will do my best to stick with this timeline.
